I'm a sucker for love - and books so naturally Jane Austen and I are a match made in heaven. However in my opinion her books always ended when things were just about to get good. Somehow her books and others of course limited my view of love for many years because what comes after falling in love. What happens when happily ever after becomes everyday life with vacuuming and diaper changes?

And these amazing couples she dreamed up, did they even get a happily ever after? With all they went through one would think that perhaps, just perhaps, they were never meant to be.

This is what was running through my mind as I was re-reading an old favorite book and a Sims Legacy challenge of sorts started forming in my head. I wanted to create some of my favorite couples and give them as close as possible traits and aspirations to their book versions.

I thought about doing a number of couples - for variety's sake but in the end I settled with just one. They are my ultimate dream couple. Miss Anne Elliot and Captain Frederick Wentworth of Austen's Persuasion.

They taught me love was worth waiting for. They taught me about second chances and determination. They taught me about breaking free from expectations and bad relationships. They taught me that true love never comes without consequence and loss but in the end what you leave behind is nothing compared to what you get in return.

Next up: Setting up the challenge
